Booklet accompanied a April 8, 2017–July 9, 2017 exhibition at Freer, Sackler. In 2014, the Okada Museum of Art in Hakone, Japan, discovered a long-lost painting by Kitagawa Utamaro (1753–1806), titled Snow at Fukagawa, one of three paintings by Utamaro that idealize famous pleasure districts in Edo (now Tokyo). This show reunited the trio. The other two are Moon at Shinagawa in 1903 and Cherry Blossoms at Yoshiwara.
