Aline Kominsky-Crumb is one of the most significant artists to emerge from the underground comix movement of the 1960s and ’70s. She collaborates with husband R. Crumb and is also a celebrated painter and cartoonist.  This poster was created before she and Robert Crumb moved to France.

Founded in 1871, the Art Institute (SFAI) claims to be the only fine arts school dedicated to contemporary art. It gained an illustrious reputation on the West Coast for courting faculty members like the photographers Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange and Edward Weston. Alums include Annie Leibovitz and Kehinde Wiley. An institutional victim of the unprecedented global COVID-19 pandemic, the school is scheduled to close down due to mounting debt after issuing degrees in May 2020.
